Behavior in Life

Liches are people whose primary Vice in life was ignorance. The ways and reasons that this manifests varies wildly from person to person; anything from racism, homophobia, and sexism, to willful rejection of science (ie. anti-vaxxers and flat earthers). One does not have to be excessively prejudiced to become a Lich, just more so than any other Vice.

Physical Characteristics

Liches retain many of their human features, but they look wildly different from when they were alive. As with Ghosts, Liches are mostly incorporeal. They are firm to the touch, but have the appearance of being made entirely of a semi-translucent gelatinous ectoplasm with various bones suspended within it; only their heads/faces appear fully solid. The ectoplasm that they are made of can be a wide variety of colors and varies between individuals. They can become ethereal enough to pass through solid objects, and in this form, they have spectral tails instead of legs.

Supernatural Abilities

The Limbo lich's primary supernatural ability is changing their physical state to be able to pass through solid objects. While it doesn't translate directly into an offensive combat skill, it does enable them to avoid being injured by most things. They are, however, still susceptible to other races' abilities which can affect the mind or spirit in addition to the body.

Excerpt from The Book of Limbo

A LYCH IS ONE OF THE RESTLESS DEAD OF LIMBO WHO HAST TAKEN ON THE FORME OF AN UNDEAD CREATURE, EQUAL PARTES SKELETON AND SPECTRE. THEY APPEAR AS TRANSLUCENT, ETHEREAL BEINGS OF ECTOPLASM, WITH THE BONES OF THEIR PHYSICAL FORME SUSPENDED IN THEIR GELATINOUS BODIES. THESE CREATURES ART PEOPLE WHO, IN LIFE, WERE IGNORANT AND DISCRIMINATORY, THINKING ONLY OF THEMSELVES AND BELIEVEING ALL OTHERS BENEATH THEM; AND THUS IN THE REALME OF THE DEAD THEY HAVE BEEN LAID BARE FOR ALL OTHERS TO SEE THROUGH THEM, THAT THEY MIGHT NOT HIDE THEIR SECRET PREJUDICES ANY LONGER.

BEING OF MOSTLY INCORPOREAL FORME, THEY HAVE LITTLE TO FEAR FROM DAMAGE TO THEIR ETHEREAL BODIES, THOUGH THEY ART SUSCEPTIBLE TO HARME TO THEIR SPIRIT.
